Students will study subjects from each of the Essential Learning Areas during the year.
Some subjects are part of all Year 9 students’ programmes; other subjects are grouped into specific disciplines and students choose from each group.
Students will study subjects from the Essential Learning Areas during the year. Some subjects are a part of all Year 10 students’ programmes. Students are able to choose from a range of other subjects to enable them to develop their specific interests and abilities.
Year 11, NCEA Level 1
Students must study the equivalent of 6 subjects, some of which may be Senior Modules. It is possible to study a combination of subjects at different levels.
Year 12, NCEA Level 2
Students must study the equivalent of six subjects. It is possible to study a combination of subjects at different levels.
Year 13, NCEA Level 3
Students must select five or six subjects. Students may be able to commence study at a tertiary institution such as University or Polytechnic and begin working towards a National Certificate, Diploma or Degree. Students may choose subjects which gain them National Certificates while at school.
We are currently in the process of updating our information, however please note that Queen’s High School offers all subjects listed here with only amendment in Mathematics, where we offer three courses in Mathematics, Statistics and Calculus.
